Castleknock solicitor Patrick Delaney suspended from practising

Castleknock solicitor Patrick Delaney has been suspended from practising as a solicitor by the High Court.

Mr Justice Peter Kelly, president of the High Court, yesterday suspended Mr Delaney and froze all bank accounts linked to his firm, Patrick Delaney Solicitors, The Irish Times reports.

The court heard that Mr Delaney had not co-operated with a Law Society investigation into client complaints concerning, firstly, the non-closure of a €120,000 mortgage and, secondly, a €248,000 estate.

Mr Justice Kelly directed that money held in the firm’s accounts should be handed over to the Law Society, as well as documents, computer passwords and access to Mr Delaney’s offices.
