The Calcutta Run, the legal profession’s annual charity fundraiser, has announced a new charity partnership with The Hope Foundation.

The Irish-based charity has worked for eighteen years to improve the quality of life homeless children in Kolkata, India, through a number of valuable projects on the ground.

Maureen Forest, director of The Hope Foundation, said: “We are so delighted, grateful and honoured to announce a partnership with Calcutta Run this year.

“This amazing event will make such an incredible difference to the children with whom we work.

“Together, with your support at Calcutta Run, this year we can be one voice for the voiceless and reach out to so many more children. We can never thank you enough for choosing HOPE.”

The Calcutta Run is organised and supported by the Law Society of Ireland, as well as solicitors and legal firms nationwide.

To date, the Run has raised €3.3 million for Peter McVerry Trust and its local charity partners in Kolkata. The ambitious fundraising target in this year’s Run, announced earlier this year, is €200,000.
