Brother Kevin Crowley, the founder of the Capuchin Day Centre, has announced his retirement.

The drop-in centre for homeless people has been well supported by Ireland’s legal community in recent years, with law firms, professional bodies and initiatives like Lawyers Against Homelessness raising funds for the charity.

Most recently, Brother Kevin was welcomed to the King Inn’s Park to receive a cheque for over €2,500 from the King’s Inns.

Announcing his retirement today, the 87-year-old, who founded the centre in 1969, said he would be returning to his native Cork to be with family.
