Insurance and risk law specialist firm BLM is to double its Dublin office space, signing a lease for a 5,000sqft office in the city centre.

Peter Campbell, head of BLM Ireland, said the move to St Stephen’s Green House, Dublin 2 comes as a result of new customers and “organic growth” leading to an expansion of the team.

Mr Campbell said: “BLM’s model of promoting an integrated approach to risk and claims management is industry defining.

“Our growth is not only in line with our insurance customers responding to the needs of the market, but is also due to our success in becoming panel members for the State Claims Agency. Our work for the Agency is defending and litigation against State Authorities.”

BLM’s Dublin office was established in 2012 and expanded following a merger with Campbell Fitzpatrick in 2014.

Gavin Campbell, head of 32 staff and four partners in Dublin, said: “We have worked hard to build on the excellent work of the core team, not just to develop it, but to establish a specialist Health Care team led by Nessa O’Roarty, which also services the State Claims Agency.

“Most recently we expanded with the appointment of Garrett Cormican to lead our Professional Indemnity team to support our defence work against construction, legal and financial professionals and in coming months we will seek to increase our head count further with senior hires in a number of areas.”

The firm will vacate its current Dublin 4 premises in August to facilitate a move when the courts are in recess.
