Big names to headline 2025 Dublin International Disputes Week

Former taoiseach Bertie Ahern, senior judges and Channel 4’s lead anchor Krishnan Guru-Murthy will be among the headline participants at Dublin International Disputes Week (DIDW) this October.
The annual event is organised by Ireland for Law, the government’s initiative to promote Irish law and legal services globally.
This year’s event will take place from Monday 19 to Thursday 23 October 2025, with over 300 delegates expected to attend from Ireland, the UK, the US and beyond.
Mr Ahern will open the conference in conversation with others involved in negotiating the 1998 Good Friday Agreement, chaired by former RTÉ journalist Eileen Dunne.
Their discussion will explore lessons from the peace process and its relevance to international dispute resolution today.
A judicial panel chaired by High Court president Mr Justice David Barniville will explore “the importance of the rule of law and a robust legal system for business and economic development”.
The panel will include insights from Chief Justice Donal O’Donnell and the Lady Chief Justice of Northern Ireland, Dame Siobhan Keegan.
Meanwhile, Mr Guru-Murthy will bring a global media perspective to legal and geopolitical developments in a special address at a gala dinner.
Angela Brennan and Stephen O’Connor, co-chairs of the DIDW steering group, said: “We are delighted to welcome delegates from around the world to Dublin International Disputes Week 2025.
“Now in its fourth year, DIDW continues to grow as a platform for global dialogue on the evolving landscape of dispute resolution.
“With contributions from world-renowned legal minds, senior members of the judiciary, and leading commentators like Bertie Ahern and Krishnan Guru-Murthy, this year’s programme reflects both the calibre and diversity of thought that DIDW represents.
“Ireland has a unique role in global legal services, and DIDW is a key part of showcasing that to the world.”
