The Attorney General, Seamus Woulfe SC, will be the guest speaker at the Law Society of Ireland’s Parchment Ceremony this evening.

Mr Woulfe will formally welcome the newest recruits into the profession and share his own experiences from an extensive legal career.

Overseeing the ceremony for his first time will be Michael Quinlan, who began his term as president of the Law Society of Ireland in November 2017.

Ken Murphy, director general of the Law Society, said: “As the chief law officer of the State, we are delighted to welcome the Attorney General to address the 65 graduates as they launch their careers.

“Mr Woulfe will be able to provide an insight into the challenges and opportunities facing the profession and graduates in a highly competitive environment.”

The President of the High Court, Mr Justice Peter Kelly, and President of the District Court, Judge Rosemary Horgan, will also attend tonight’s ceremony.
