And finally… weight for it

And finally... weight for it

Three residents of a condominium complex in downtown Denver are suing a gym they claim has made their homes unliveable because of groaning weightlifters.

The lawsuit, filed in Denver County District Court, accuses Summit Strong gym of allowing “unreasonably loud weightlifting-related noises”, including dropped weights, clanging equipment and “weightlifters groaning, yelling and struggling to lift weights”.

Residents claim the noise begins as early as 5am and continues until 9pm on weekdays, disrupting sleep, work and daily life. The suit also alleges the disturbance has reduced property values.

According to the filing, concerns were raised before the gym opened and assurances were given that soundproofing would prevent disruption.

The plaintiffs are seeking a court order requiring the gym to open no earlier than 9am and to stop excessive noise and vibrations.
