And finally... the house always wins

A lawyer who woke up handcuffed with $75,000 in debt is suing a Las Vegas casino for allowing him to gamble while incapacitated.

Tax attorney Michael Duke Thomson, 64, claims he cannot remember racking up the astronomical bill in the Aria Resort & Casino, The Independent reports.

In court documents, Thomson — a regular at the Aria — says he can’t remember anything after leaving the casino’s high-stakes blackjack room around midnight until waking up in the casino’s custody the next morning.

He argues that his lack of memory suggests he was “surreptitiously drugged” and that he should have received help from the casino instead of being allowed to continue gambling.

Media reports have compared Thomson’s claims to the plot of 2009 Hollywood comedy The Hangover, which follows a group of friends forced to retrace their steps after waking up in Las Vegas with no memory of the night before.

Thomson is seeking a jury trial with damages to be determined in court.
