And finally… sheepish

A serial litigant who claimed that “sheep are descended from Jacob” has been banned from filing further cases in the High Court.

Donna Sfar, from Co Louth, has issued 24 separate judicial review proceedings since 1999, the Irish Examiner reports.

All of the proceedings relate to challenges against the Minister for Agriculture and State for the return of animals seized from her property.

Her claims have included an alleged breach of her religious rights because sheep are “sacred” animals.

Ms Sfar is currently barred from keeping pigs and sheep due to convictions under the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013.

Mr Justice Michael Twomey has restrained Ms Sfar from taking further cases against the Minister without prior leave of the High Court.

He has also directed that she would need prior leave to sue judges.
