Brazilian drug lord Jarvis Chimenes Pavao, imprisoned in Paraguay, was believed to be developing escape plans worthy of Hollywood.

Paraguayan police suspected that he was going to blow a hole in the side of the prison with explosives and get away.

But when they swooped on his three-room prison cell, they were more shocked to find air conditioning, comfortable furniture, an en suite bathroom and more luxuries besides.

The privileged prisoner reportedly bribed guards to secure the cosiest detention possible.

Pavao, who is serving time for money laundering, has now been transferred to another facility.
