And finally… pricey

The auction house Christie’s is being sued over the $39 million sale of a large pink diamond named Princie, “a priceless treasure” from India.

Descendants of an Italian senator claim that the stone was illegally sold to a member of the Qatari royal family and are seeking its return, The Times reports.

Christie’s denies the accusations and claims the dispute is between two branches of a family.

Found in the mines near Golconda, in Hyderabad, the diamond has a particular pink fluorescence and is thought to be the largest of its type in the world.
