And finally… Lynx effect

Police who pulled over a drunk driver found him spraying Lynx deodorant in his mouth when they reached his vehicle.

Patrick David Butler, 45, was followed by police in South Carolina after they saw him jerk his vehicle to avoid hitting a curb, WBTV reports.

According to the police report, they pulled the vehicle over and then saw Butler “actively spraying Axe body spray into his mouth”.

Axe is the body spray known as Lynx in the UK and Ireland.

The bizarre move was apparently an ill-conceived scheme to mask the smell of “two beers and a shot of Jack Daniels” which Butler went on to admit drinking while watching football with friends.

He was later charged with driving under the influence.
