And finally... lost and found

A manhunt for a convicted killer came to an embarrassing end after his jailers realised they had forgotten him at a courthouse for at least 12 hours.

Officials at Clayton County jail in Jonesboro, Georgia ordered a lockdown and search after they could not find 70-year-old Julian Brooks Deloach.

It was only after reviewing CCTV footage that they realised he was still sitting in the holding cell at the neighbouring courthouse, local TV channel WSBTV reports.

He was not found until 7am, having spent the night in an unsupervised cell which had no bed.

Four officials are facing demotion or suspension as a result of the gaffe.
