And finally… knickered up

Owners of a Belfast lingerie shop have complained that the smell from a Greggs store opening next door will ruin their stock.

Mike Tremellen, director of Bravissimo, has written to planning officials to complain that the smell of pasties and pies will “permeate into our shop” and make their stock “unfit for sale”.

He said their products are “lingerie and clothing made with materials that can pick up odours”.

Greggs bosses have insisted that they will open the store in the adjacent unit.

Their planning application is currently pending.

A spokeswoman said: “As a responsible company we are happy to work with our neighbours to try to alleviate any concerns that they may have about our operations.”
