And finally… hit the road
Pedestrians are to be fined for speeding if they walk or run faster than six kilometres per hour in Slovakia.
The new speed limit was agreed in the Slovak parliament yesterday through an amendment to new road traffic legislation, according to Swiss website Bluewin.
The limit of six kilometres per hour — or just under four miles per hour — will apply to pedestrians as well as skaters, scooters and e-scooters.
Slovak MP Lubomir Vazny said: “The main aim is to increase safety on pavements in view of the increasing number of collisions with scooter riders.”
The restriction is expected to come into effect from the beginning of 2026.
