And finally… footloose

A drunken reveller at a music festival got more than he bargained for after he started a fight with a plainclothes police officer.

Wayne Liang, 38, was arrested after he pushed sergeant Zhang Zhengyang off his seat and stomped on his foot at the Ultra Music Festival in 2016.

A court in Singapore this month fined him on a count of using criminal force on a public servant.

Sergeant Zhang was seated on a concrete block observing people when Liang pushed him off and took his seat.

The police officer asked him why he had pushed him, to which he responded “what”. He repeated the question in Mandarin and Liang replied “I happy”.

Sergeant Zhang identified himself as a police officer, showing Liang his warrant card.

Liang responded by saying “so what” and stomped on his foot.

District Judge Kessler Soh fined him $10,000.
