And finally… cold comfort

The heirs of a man who kept his wife’s body in cold storage so he could fraudulently claim her welfare payments have repaid the US government the money.

The US Attorney’s Office has confirmed that Allan Dunn’s heirs have sold his condo and paid $15,743 from the proceedings to the Social Security Administration.

Dunn’s fraud began in 2002 after his wife, Margaret Dunn, died at home, ABC News reports.

Dunn then hid his wife’s body in a freezer and collected her social security payments until his death in 2010.

The fraud was only discovered after he died.
