Video footage from a district court in the US state of Michigan shows the police officer joining the Zoom hearing in his uniform, sans trousers.

Judge Sean Perkins immediately and bluntly asks him: “You got some pants on, officer?”

The officer sheepishly replies “No, sir” before adjusting his camera to hide his legs, Fox 19 reports.

Judge Perkins subsequently continued with the trial without any more comments on the officer’s outfit.

The Detroit Police Department has said it is reviewing the incident.

The force will also remind its officers about court etiquette, it added.
