And finally… bye law
A Russian internet streamer says he was detained and assaulted by police after waving goodbye at a passing prisoner transport van in central Moscow.
Footage from the man’s livestream shows him standing with a small group in the Kitay Gorod district before waving towards the vehicle. Seconds later, a masked officer runs towards him and tackles him to the ground.
According to Varlamov News, the streamer has not been publicly identified. He broadcasts on Twitch, where he has just over 100 followers. In a video recorded after his release, he alleged that police forced him and several others, including minors, into a prisoner transport van before assaulting those inside.
He claimed officers confiscated their phones, threatened to shave the men’s heads and used an electric shock device on detainees. All were released shortly afterwards.
The streamer said he did not know why the other people in the van had been arrested.
“We were completely packed in the prisoner van, and they started to harass and insult us there. At a certain point, one of the officers just took the shocker, opened the bars, and started [beating] everyone,” he said.
