And finally… a big boy done it and ran away

Two American lawyers who crashed their car after drinking at a bar blamed the crash on a mysterious black man who offered to drive them home - but the police were quick to find he didn’t exist.

Heather Wilsey, 27, and Kenneth Lewis, 42, have been jailed and now face court sanctions on the initiative of their bar association.

When police responded to their car accident, Lewis told them that the pair had met a black man at a nearby bar who had offered to drive them home and then fled following the accident.

But police reviewed the CCTV footage and found that Wilsey and Lewis had left the bar, drunk, by themselves, The Chronicle reports.

Both will face 10 days in jail for obstruction, while Wilsey has also been given a $1,250 fine and seen her driving license suspended.

They now face a complaint from the Lorain County Bar Association alleging the pair are guilty of dishonesty, racial discrimination and misconduct that adversely affects their ability to practise law.
