International intellectual property firm Stobbs has announced its expansion into the US.
The business has grown since its founding in 2013 from a team of 18 to over 200 professionals, establishing offices in Dublin, London, Cambridge, Munich and Eindhoven.
Founder Julius Stobbs said: “Our clients don’t think in jurisdictional silos — and neither do we.
“Our US presence allows us to deliver practical support for global brand owners who require cross-border thinking and seamless service.”
The firm’s Irish office, which opened in March 2022, serves as a hub for Irish and EU clients, offering intangible asset management including trade mark and design clearance, filing and prosecution.
Mary White, IA director at Stobbs Ireland, said: “We warmly welcome the launch of Stobbs US. Today we mark a milestone that significantly enhances our global reach and capability.
“For our Irish clients, this expansion means seamless access to expert, on-the-ground support in the United States — one of the world’s most important markets for brand growth and protection.
“We look forward to helping our clients unlock new opportunities and navigate the complexities of the US market with confidence.”
Stobbs Ireland supports a diverse client base, including start-ups, SMEs, and multinationals, managing over 10,000 Irish and EU trademarks.
The new US team includes Matthew Ladenheim as IA director and founding partner.
Mr Ladenheim is a board-certified specialist in trademark law and has a distinguished legal career, including leadership roles in the North Carolina State Bar and in trademark law from both boutique and large firm environments.
His experience is complemented by J. Scott Evans, whose in-house career spans major companies like Adobe, Fruit of the Loom and Yahoo, and is noted for his expertise in trademark, copyright, Internet and AI policy issues.
