Hannah Al-Qaryooti has joined Public Interest Litigation Support (PILS) as the non-profit’s legal support manager.

An Oxford University law graduate, Ms Al-Qaryooti had previously worked with Safer Renting, a London-based tenants’ rights advocacy service, as a caseworker and team leader.

As PILS’ legal support manager, she is the first point of contact for organisations seeking to use public interest litigation as a tool for change in Northern Ireland.

Speaking about her appointment, Ms Al-Qaryooti said: “I was delighted to accept the offer as I am really impressed by the work PILS does and I can understand, from the point of view of an activist, how invaluable the support offered by PILS is in furthering human rights and equality in the North.”

PILS is Northern Ireland’s legal hub dedicated to helping local human rights NGOs and legal professionals to build strategic public interest litigation.

Since 2009, PILS has offered its membership network a range of free legal and financial support services as they pursue cases that challenge injustice, protect human rights, and promote equality in Northern Ireland.
