UK: Supreme Court school competition closes soon

Last year's winner with Lady Hale

Have you recently been on a tour of the UK Supreme Court with your school? Did your visit spark an interest in the law? Are you considering studying law at university? Or perhaps you have a general interest in how the justice system works here in the UK.

If you’re a Year 13 or 14 pupil in Northern Ireland or an S5 or S6 pupil in Scotland and the answer to any of these questions is yes, you might be interested in entering our UK Supreme Court Student Writing Competition.

Put your knowledge of the law and skills of persuasion to the test by arguing for or against a point of law of your choice from the information pack below. The final winners will be chosen by a Supreme Court Justice.

Prizes for the top placed entries are:

  • First place: £100 Book Voucher, spend a day at the Supreme Court and have tea with a Justice.
  • Second place: £75 Book Voucher.
  • Third place: £50 Book Voucher.

The competition will give you a chance to build your research skills and learn more about law in the UK. It will also look great on your UCAS form too!

Please see the information pack below for more information about the competition and how to enter. The final winners will be chosen by one of the Supreme Court Justices.

The competition is open until Monday 31st January 2020.

If you have any questions, please email enquiries@supremecourt.uk.
