Limerick solicitor David Herlihy will not be allowed to resume practice as a solicitor even if he wins an appeal against an earlier High Court order, the Irish Examiner reports.

Mr Justice Peter Kelly, president of the High Court, said a strike-off order in relation to separate findings of professional misconduct will come into effect if Mr Herlihy successfully overturns the order made in March 2017.

Mr Herlihy, who previously practised as David Herlihy Solicitor at Lord Edward St, Kilmallock, Co Limerick, was found by the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal to have failed to comply with undertakings provided by him on dates between 2004 and 2008 to the EBS, Bank of Ireland and Allied Irish Banks on behalf of seven clients.
