Cork solicitor Patricia Mallon awarded French order of merit

Cork solicitor Patricia Mallon has been awarded a French order of merit after stepping down as honorary consul of France in Cork.

Ms Mallon, partner at Eoin C. Daly Mallon Solicitors, was presented with the Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite by the French Ambassador to Ireland, Stéphane Crouzat, at a special ceremony.

The lawyer, a specialist in collaborative law and a co-founder of the Association of Collaborative Practitioners of Ireland, is stepping down after having served in the role for seven years, The Echo reports.

She is succeeded by local businessman Josselin Le Gall.

Speaking ahead of the ceremony, Ambassador Crouzat said: “I am delighted to present this important distinction awarded by the President of the French Republic to Patricia Mallon as testimony of the excellent work she has done over the years as Honorary Consul of France in Cork, helping the French community and contributing to the deepening of political, economic and cultural links between France and the countries of Cork, Kerry and Waterford.”
