A drug trafficker was caught after she put fake police lights on a drug-laden vehicle to speed through traffic on her way to court.
Ebony Lerra Holland-Harris has been jailed for more than three years after her “substantial street level trafficking operation” was inadvertently exposed by the road traffic offence.
Ms Holland-Harris was in the passenger seat of the car, which was pulled over and found to contain a Samurai sword, a loaded air rifle, thousands of dollars, and “a significant quantity” of illegal drugs.
She told the arresting officers that she was on her way to a court appearance at Adelaide Magistrates Court.
In sentencing, Judge Simon Stretton said Holland-Haris was found to have 12.35g of MDMA and 5.34g of methamphetamine on her.
A subsequent search of her house found a further 48.5g of MDMA and 9.28g of methamphetamine, as well as a book chronicling “drug debts”.
The driver of the car is also facing prosecution.
